Up to 100 stories a day are uploaded to the examiner.com.au website as the paper goes to press (Midnight approximately local time AEST).

These stories can be searched by keyword and date range. In every case you will be able to see the heading and opening paragraph.
PAY-PER-VIEW

If you decide to read the whole story your account will be debited by the number of credits indicated next to the heading. If you think you might want to refer back to this story you should print it out or save it to your hard disk.

The cost of stories (daily news and archive*) from July 1 2002, is 20 credits (AUD 22 cents incl. GST) but you will not be charged any more than 100 credits (AUD $1.10 incl. GST) in any one session. This equates to the average cost of The Examiner hardcopy.
NEWS ARCHIVE

Subscribers have access to The Examiner's news story archive*. This is a valuable resource for businesses, researchers and students. The website's search function makes finding references to people, subjects and events easy. The cost of archive stories is the same as daily news stories (22 Cents AUD incl. GST).

* The archive consists of the full Editorial text and Line ads since April 2000 and 6 daily stories between November 1997 and February 2000. It does not include large graphics such as the weather graphic, TV guide, comics and display ads.

SUBSCRIBING

Click Join Now above to establish your account. You will be asked to purchase credits with your credit card and the minimum account balance is $11 AUD (which includes 10% GST for Australian subscribers). Once you have done this you will get immediate access to the Members section of the website.

The number of credits you have will be displayed at all times. You will be able to "top up" your account as needed but if you run out of credits your membership will cease. Please note that subscriptions are non-refundable.

All credit card transactions on northerntasmania.yourguide.com.au are handled by Westpac Banking Corporation and no credit card numbers are held by The Examiner Newspaper P/L. The Examiner Newspaper P/L will not allow your personal and credit card details to be used for any other purpose than our own transactions.
