The ban on genetically modified crops will continue while a parliamentary committee reviews the State's policy. A parliamentary committee reviewing genetically modified organisms has extended its reporting date by two months. Committee chairman David Llewellyn said the extension was necessary because the complex issues meant the final recommendations were not ready by the end of June as thought. The moratorium on GMOs would continue until November 2009 unless it was amended as a result of the review.
